First Trailer for the GHOST IN THE SHELL Live Action Movie Has Arrived and It Actually Looks Good!

Sunday, November 13th, 2016

Honestly, I was one of those people who were very apprehensive about Hollywood doing a live-action movie based on the Ghost in the Shell anime series. We all know that they don’t have the best track record of adapting video games or animated series into live-action films. Along with the fact that it remains one of my favorite series–both anime and manga–I was not happy about this.

Well, I can say so far that most of my fears have been put at ease. Today, Paramount Pictures released the first trailer for the Ghost in the Shell movie starring Scarlett Johansson, and it looks good. It looks a lot like the anime and visually that is very important in getting this movie right.

Check out the trailer below and share your thoughts with us in the comments below or on social media.

Ghost in the Shell is due in theaters March 31, 2017.

We have been treated to all kinds of goodies in promotion for the upcoming and highly anticipated Deadpool movie. With the last of them being a second trailer for the film. Today, Empire magazine unveiled their cover for the movie after they gave us a tease during the “12 Days of Deadpool.” In addition to the image of the cover, they have a funny video promoting it.

Deadpool is directed by Tim Miller, written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, starring Ryan Reynolds, Morena Baccarin, Gina Carano, Brianna Hildebrand, Ed Skrein, T.J. Miller and Stefan Kapicic. It is scheduled to open in theaters on February 12, 2016.

We Really Need More Of The METROID: THE SKY CALLS Fan-Film

Wednesday, November 4th, 2015

It always blows my mind when people with a limited budget (sure this one probably has a bit more than most, but still) can produce a better and more interesting movie than Hollywood. The latest from Rainfall Films — the ones responsible for the popular Wonder Woman fan film — and director Sam Balcomb, is Metroid: The Sky Calls. Yes, a Metroid movie! It is part masterpiece, and part a nerd’s dream come true. The short film based on the popular Nintendo video game series stars Jessica Chobot (Nerdist) as the intergalactic bounty hunter and the main protagonist of the series, Samus Aran. The production on Metroid: The Sky Calls rivals most Hollywood movies and is worth the time to watch (that’s if you haven’t already). We can only hope that the big studios are paying attention to this and it has sparked them to get an official Metroid film into production.

STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS Gets Official Character Posters

Wednesday, November 4th, 2015

Today Lucasfilm and Disney released a series of new character posters for one of the most anticipated films this year (or I would dare say recent years), Star Wars: The Force Awakens. These new movie posters feature many of the main characters from the film that includes: Rey, Princess Leia, Han Solo, Finn, and the main villain, Kylo Ren. Hopefully there will be more posters on the way that feature the other characters as well, namely Captain Phasma. Check out the posters below.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens is directed by J.J. Abrams and stars original trilogy alumni Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill who are joined by John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver and Oscar Isaac. It is set to open in theaters worldwide on December 18, 2015.

New STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS Trailer Released!

Monday, October 19th, 2015

Tonight during the halftime of ESPN’s Monday Night Football, Lucasfilm premiered to the world the third theatrical trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Now it is here for those that couldn’t deal with sitting through a football game to watch. If this trailer is any sign of what the final film will be, then all I can say is thank you J.J. Abrams. This looks like Star Wars, like the original trilogy that I grew up on.

STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS Gets An Official Movie Poster

Sunday, October 18th, 2015

Lucasfilm released a new poster today through their social media outlets for the highly anticipated Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Everyone but Luke Skywalker seem to be present in this poster, which makes me wonder how much he will even be a part of this story. Or they are still just trying to keep him under wraps for some unknown reason (yes Disney, we know he is in the movie).

Along with this new poster, a new trailer will be premiering tomorrow night during ESPN’s Monday Night Football. Hopefully whatever is shown, we’ll get a bit more once it is posted online. Stay tuned for that and more to come.
